In an interview for Mafia's 20th anniversary, General Manager Roman Hladik said that "a new project was in the works and that it would be "a few years away" from the official unveil."
As part of the celebration, 2K Games is giving away the PC version of the first Mafia game for free.
From September 1 to September 5, you can get the game for free on Steam. After that, it is yours to keep.
The first Mafia game came out in 2002, and it was set in the 1930s. It was about a cab driver named Tommy Angelo who is forced into the world of organized crime.
Mafia was also remade in 2020. It was called "The Definitive Edition," and it had better graphics, game mechanics, and sound design.
While details of the upcoming Mafia game are sparse, we can assume that it will be out on all major platforms — PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
