OverWatch 2 is a first-person shooter game developed & published by Blizzard Entertainment. The game is currently midway through its Season 6 named Invasion, which went live last month & has brought several changes alongside a new game mode named Hero Mastery.
Now, the developers have pushed out a mid-season patch for the Season 6 invasion of OverWatch 2 that brings balance changes for the heroes & bug fixes to provide smoother gameplay.
As with every Patch, the developers have already shared full patch notes for the players to let them know what’s coming in this patch.
OverWatch 2 First Anniversary Event
Now, before we take a look at what’s coming, Blizzard Entertainment surprised the community by announcing their plans for the upcoming OverWatch 2 First Anniversary event that will start on September 19 & will bring back several player’s favorite game events such as Starwatch, Mischief, Catch-A-Mari, Olympus and Magic.
The fun doesn’t stop here as the players will be able to take part in event-limited new challenges, which will reward them the OverWatch 2 Credits, which the players can use to buy Legendaries Skins that will be making their comeback for the event.
OverWatch 2 Hero Mystery Game Mode
With this update, OverWatch 2 gets a new Hero Mystery Game Mode game mode. It is a new single-player mode that will enable players to use individual heroes on the custom course and will give them a score for every course they complete
- Players can play with individual heroes on three different courses with increasing difficulty.
- The course scores are rewarded based on several factors such as time, heals, eliminations, and escort.
- The hero mastery mode also keeps track of every hero’s individual stats.
- The players can collect all the Mastery Emblems to show their prowess.
- Also, the Hero Mastery event is releasing with a limited-time event that includes exclusive rewards.
- Courses for Reinhardt, Mercy, and Tracer are available, and courses for Sojourn, Winston & more heroes courses will be available in the coming weeks.
General Updates
- Owned entities such as Torbjorn’s Turret, Symmetra’s Teleporter, or Illari’s Healing Pylon will now have a lower priority as ping targets than enemy heroes
Hero Updates
Orisa
- Fortify
- The Cooldown will begin when the ability is activated instead of when it ends
- The developers have increased the Cooldown from 12 seconds to 16.5 seconds
- The devs have decreased the Overhealth bonus from 125 to 100 seconds
Zariya
- Project Barrier
- Health Increased from 200 to 225
- The cooldown has been decreased from 10 to 8
- The Size has also been increased to 15 percent
Bastion
- A-36 Tactical Grenade
- Impact damage was reduced from 30 to 15
- Configuration: Artillery
- It can no longer deal critical hits
Mei
- Endothermic Blaster
- The devs have increased the damage from 65 to 70 per cent
- The devs have increased the duration before the slow falls off between the primary fire hits from 0.5 to 0.6
- Deep Chill
- Bonus damage can now also be triggered with Mei’s quick melee
Junkier Queen
- Jagged Blade
- Impact damage increased from 50 to 65
Ashe
- The Viper
- Reload time decreased from .25 to .2 seconds
Kiriko
- Protection Suzu
- It can now pass through enemy heroes
Baptiste
- Regenerative Burst
- The devs have dressed the instant healing from 50 to 40
Support
- Aside from the hero changes, the developers have notably nerfed the whole support category and increased the passive activation time from 1.5 to 2 seconds.
Bug Fixes
General
- Fixed an issue with the Daybreak challenge being reset to 0 and not receiving progress after completing games
- The developers fixed a bug where the Progression level badge wasn’t promoting. Players who have already reached levels where the badge should now be promoted to the correct badge.
- The Save-A-Mari challenge will now specify the difficulty requirement for completion
- The devs fixed an issue with the Relative Aim Sensitivity not accepting a value of 0
- Fixed an instance where Competetive Titles would reset after a relog
- The devs fixed a bug where gamepads/controllers prevented some characters from flying diagonally
Maps
Dorado
- Fixed an issue where the environment near the final point sometimes allowed Mei Blizzard to go through the environment
New Junk City
- The developers fixed areas where the players could get stuck in
- Fixed lightning-specific issues in areas on the map
- Devs added an intro when loading into the map. Players will be greeted with a Welcome to New Junk City.
Suravasa
- Fixed some mountains on the map that allowed some turrets to be hidden
- Fixed a few areas that did not have the correct lighting.
- Fixed the areas where players could get stuck on
- The devs fixed some areas on the map that allowed players to stand outside the playable zone
CO-OP Mission
Rio
- Fixed an issue that could occur after the artillery lands that resulted in the player’s camera looking at the sky after rejoining control of the camera
Toronto
- Fixed an interaction with the train that could force players outside of the map boundaries
- The devs fixed a bug with lightning that could occur on this when changing graphics settings
Gothenburg
- Fixed a location in the spawn where players could become stuck.
Heros
Bastion
- The developers fixed an error that resulted in vertical knockback on Bastion’s tactical Grenade being reduced
Junker Queen
- Fixed a bug where the Junker Queen recalling Jagged Blade in the same frame as it is stuck in an object by (holding a secondary fire and aiming at an object at the same distance away as the knife’s recall range) would cause a pingable knife could be stuck in the world.
Kiriko
- The devs fixed a bug that made it difficult to Swift step to allies in a room with a low ceiling
Lifeweaver
- Fixed a bug allowing friendly EMPs to destroy a player’s Petal Platform
