Square Enix, the company behind the final fantasy video game, is geared up for the development of the next iteration of its final Fantasy title, i.e., Final Fantasy XVI. It’s been in the making for a few years now, and we’ve seen information tricking down in bits and pieces.
Despite all this, it looks like the Japanese company is seemingly working on a few more projects behind the scenes considering the statements given by the Square Enix director & producer Yoshinari Kitase, which only consolidates it further.
Yoshinari Kitase was present at the Official Final Fantasy portal website, where he greeted the fans & also teased the project unrelated to the FFVII that has been running in the background at Square Enix, which he can’t say anything about just yet.
Also, Kitase reiterated the year 2023 and how it will be an exciting year for the Japanese giant and said, “Rest assured that we are working on making sure that 2023 will be the most exciting year yet”.

In addition to this, the director & producer of Square Enix, shed some light on the status of the title, which is in development, i.e., Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
The Development is picking up the pace for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and I’m sure your imaginations are running wild on how we will recreate the game’s most iconic scenes; we’ll have more to share when the time is right, said Kitase.
Well, with all this, it is still not clear if the teases made by Square Enix were related to the Final Fantasy series or is an entirely new project, although it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it is most likely the Final Fantasy series since the director appeared on the official Final Fantasy portal website!
Talking about the unrelated title, it could be Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy Remakes, as these two titles were in the Nvidia leak though they have not been announced yet.
Now, considering that the company’s director and producer, Yoshinari Kitase teased the project which is being developed behind the scene, indicates that the project is most likely one of the biggest projects of the company, and we can expect Square Enix to share more details about the project after the release of Final Fantasy XVI.
