Leadership and Team
Unacademy’s former marketing head Karan Shroff started LightFury Games. Shroff is assisted by chiefs and other experts comprised of Tina Balachandran and Anurag Banerjee.
The former is filled by Balachandran minted from Unacademy and Tencent Games as the Chief People and Operations Officer.
The experienced professional in the gaming industry is responsible for the management of the gaming portfolio of the group as the Group’s Chief Product and Technology Officer.
Together, they propel a strong leadership for LightFury, which aims towards the achievement of the set goals.
The new appointment of Justin Farren as Chief Creative Officer is a valuable addition to LightFury’s workforce.
Farren currently oversees a team of over 100 staff at the Wargaming firm and has been with the company for over two decades in addition to having worked at Ubisoft Singapore firm.
The appointment is indicative of the company’s drive to consolidate a team that would be capable of delivering new-generation AAA games.
Facilities and Expansion Plans
The first studio of LightFury is set up in a place close to the Bengaluru International Airport. This modern building has the potential to house up to sixty developers and will start with the production of mobile games.

LightFury has also attained a funding of $8 million. Of the funding, the latest of a 5 million seed investment is headed by the reputable Blume Ventures.

This investment will enable the establishment of new studios in the United Kingdom. Chong-U Lim will be the Chief Technology Officer of the UK operating division; he has worked for Improbable and Electronic Arts.
Daniel Hall, hired as the Senior Director of Engineering for more than one and a half years, will coordinate between the UK and the Indian studios.
