As we know, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an online-only adventurer shooter game, and it is the next iteration in the Batman Akhram franchise. Well, the AAA title is scheduled to release in May this year. Although it seems that the upcoming video game has been delayed further.
Jeff Grubb, an industry insider, revealed in his Game Mess podcast that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will now launch in 2024 instead of the initial launch in May. The leakster said, as per what he has heard from his sources, that this is a bigger delay than was reported.
Jeff mentions that his source telling this information has been good, of course; he accepts that how leaks like these are hard to believe, but this does have some weight to it.
“Listen, I don’t want to cause a panic or something, but what I have heard is that it is not even coming this year. I am hearing 2024, and I heard earlier this evening that this is a bigger delay than what is being put out there. We’ll see, as this stuff is hard to nail for sure. I’ll say this source has always been a very good one.“
Furthermore, the leak star also discussed what Rocksteady could do with the AAA title; he mentions that the basic idea of the game will not change in a year, and it does make sense, although the developers could play with the live service feature with the game’s story.
Now, coming back, Bloomberg was the first to report this delay, and although the game wasn’t received well by fans at the PlayStation State of Play still, it is not the reason for the delay, but for many, it is the gameplay reveal spot at the February presentation.
The players already know that the game can be co up to four players to do missions and defeat the boss, and its live feature mechanics are a real breaker of the upcoming AAA title.
Plus, the game was being shown as a looter shooter game as a gear menu was visible during the gameplay, and could earn loot to upgrade your characters.
On top of all this, Rocksteady also mentioned that an internet connection is a must to play the Suicide Squad kill the Justice League even if you want to play in single mode, and evidently, DC fans weren’t happy when the studio announced this.
Many players were critical of the AAA title’s importance on the looting and shooting aspect, live feature.
In addition, the battle passed, and to sum it all up, the announcement of always needing an internet connection, even for the single, just added fuel to the fire. Because of all this, the majority thought that the bad reception is the main culprit in causing the delay.
As the industry insider, Jeff said the basic idea of the game will not change as it would take 2-3 years for the rework, so don’t expect a lot of changes, and likely the live feature or the looter thingy will not completely go away.
