Is the Next Iteration in the Titanfall Franchise Coming Soon?

Titanfall & Titanfall 2 is a multiplayer first-person shooting (FPS) video game that was released in 2014 & 2016, respectively. Well, the games are developed by Respawn Entertainment. The Titanfall franchise is one of the most loved FPS games and has brought together a cult following over the years.

 Also, Respawn Entertainment is the one who developed the popular battle royale game Alex Legends, which shares an identical universe as well.

Well, the maker of the Titanfall games says that he would like to add a new entrant to the franchise. To put this into perspective, Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, in conversation with Barrons, spoke about the future of the Titanfall franchise. Zampella, when asked about the future of the Titanfall series, said this.

“We’re not working on anything currently; I hate to say yes, then people latch onto that, and skewer you when it doesn’t come. But I would love to see it happen is the real answer. There are no exact dedicated plans for that. It has to be the right thing. It’s such a beloved franchise for the fans and also for us. If it is not the right moment in time, the right idea, then it just doesn’t make sense”.

The developer, Respawn, is busy, and it is not likely that a new Titan Fall title to start development anytime soon.

Also, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is releasing today, and the studio is already busy working on two more Star Wars titles.

Well, this doesn’t include the successor of the Jedi Survivor to make it a Star Wars Jedi trilogy, and this is not to mention all the work that Respwan is putting in on the Alex Legends.

With that being said, Earlier this year, it was reported that Respawn has canceled a single-player Apex Legend game that will have TitanFall’s characters, such as the most loved BT-7274 & Zach Cooper.

While the next TitanFall title may not happening soon, TitanFall 2 has aged well  & is still a go-to FPS game for many fans. 

Now even if the devs decide to go on with making a TitanFall game, it will take time to develop a modern AAA game as the development cycle is pretty long, so it would be a long time before players get to play the game like in 2-3 years although every studio timeline is different but even still TitanFall 3 wouldn’t be coming out in near future.

Respawn is currently developing a Star Wars first-person shooting game, inspired by the Star Wars Jedi Knight, possibly a Sequal to Jedi Survivor, a Star Wars Stregy alongside Bitr Reactor, and not to forget all the Apex Legend content as well.

A possible reason for not going for a third TitanFall title could be the series’ poor sales figures due to the other big title releases.

One example is TitanFall 2 getting sandwiched between the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare & BattleGround 1.

Nonetheless, the news this disappointing, and we’ll have to see when or if the studio decides to release the third iteration of the franchise
