If you’ve ever encountered a trader in Minecraft, you’ve probably seen the leash they use to move around the llama. You can use the leash to carry animals such as a cow, chicken, donkey, horse, pig, parrots, & many more.
It also works as an anchor for the boats & you can move mobs with a leash too. On top of all this, you can use the leash again & again.
There are ways to obtain the Minecraft lead naturally, or you can collect the raw materials & craft one yourself. We’ll go through these processes one by one.
How to obtain Minecraft lead?
Getting a Minecraft lead without crafting is somewhat simple. Firstly, you need to find traders wandering around the world with their animals. Once you locate them, kill either of them & the lead will be dropped.
You can even keep them apart to break the leash. A lead leash can move nearly ten blocks before it drops. Another way of getting a Minecraft lead is through chests.
These were the natural methods of obtaining a Minecraft lead, but how do you use a leash?
Using a Minecraft lead
To use a Minecraft lead, take out the leash & press right-click. In Minecraft Pocket Edition, stand near the mob & the option to leash will appear.
How to craft a Minecraft lead?
For crafting a Minecraft lead, you’ll need the following items:
- 4 x Strings
- 1 x Slimeball
Finding a string is no big task, but you’ll have to fight a spider first. Pick up your sword & move to hunt down some spiders at night & you’ll get strings as drops.
If you want to avoid fighting, find a mine & look for the cobwebs inside to obtain a string.
Getting a slimeball in Minecraft is even easier. You’ll have to locate a swamp biome. Once you reach there, wait for the night & you’ll find slimes bouncing around the land. Kill it to obtain numerous slime balls.
Now you’ve everything ready for crafting a Minecraft lead & all you need is a crafting table:
- Open a 3×3 crafting table.
- Place the 4 x strings as shown.
- Add the slimeball to the middle of the table.
That’s it. You’ve successfully crafted & obtain two leads. Now you can use these leads as many times as you want. Even if you go to bed using a leash in Minecraft, the animal or mob will remain attached to it.
