According to a tweet & Instagram post by Simone Bailly, who is a Need for Speed: Most Wanted alumni, the 2005 classic racing game is getting a remake and will launch in 2024. Now, as per Baily, whose voices of Both Sergeant Cross & Officer Turf are making a comeback in the remake similar to the 2005 classic.
Unfortunately, the tweet & the Instagram post about the Need For Speed: Most Wanted has now been deleted, but the community managed to get a screengrab of it. Also, the number of likes on Bailey’s profile confirms the teaser.
This isn’t all; the voice artist also liked the reply on the post that showed excitement for the remake & liked a reply from the player on the post who mentioned Derek Hamilton making a comeback to voice Razor; this could also mean that the main foe is making a comeback as well.
Furthermore, Simon also tagged Criterion Game in the post; the studio developed the Need For Speed Burnout & and 2012’s Need For Speed Reboot is likely to lead the development of the upcoming remake. Considering the original developer EA Black Box does not exist anymore, this isn’t shocking.
The 2005’s Classic Need For Speed: Most Wanted is one of the most famous racing video games in all of this genre’s history, and it wouldn’t be fair to talk about this genre and not mention the title. The commercial & critical success the title achieved.
Whether it’s Graphics, sound, police system, maps & more, everything was loved by the fans & critics, which is massive, especially for a racing title. Also, the developer EA Games is credited by many for giving defining racing titles.
The Need For Speed: Most Wanted became a huge success all over the globe, having sold over 16 million copies worldwide. Thus becoming the best-selling title of the franchise and breaking several other records as well
Fast forward to 2012, EA Games & Criterion Games developed Need For Speed Reboot, which in contrast, had no story, so it was criticized for being a single-player mode by critics; that being said, the game did get a positive reception overall.
Though it could not create much buzz like the original, looking at how the remake is shaping up, we hope it creates the magic that the Reboot couldn’t.
