The survival horror title is developed and published by Capcom! (the same studio) which developed & released the 2005’s masterpiece.

In a new interview by the Game Informer, the titles directors, Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Ampo, talked about the gameplay of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The duo discussed the changes they have made in the remake of the original to make it feel different. For instance, they have added a Quick dodge, Sub-quests & more.

In the title’s remake, the armor will be less, and players can only use knives for some time. The Quick Time Events (QTE) have also been replaced in Resident Evil 4 by the parry system. Also, there will be more ways for players to try combat, from Stealth to plain Fighting.

In conversation with the Game Informer channel, the duo mentioned that they did not want to work on the remake of the original masterpiece, but after looking at it from a fresh perspective, they knew they could make it better. and then they started working on the controls of Resident Evil 4.

Started off with the removal of the Quick Time Events from the rebuild as Kazunori & Yasuhiro thought that the players will not enjoy the events since they are not as popular as they used to be, so they swapped it with the new Parry System in the rebuild.

Well, now, because of the new parry system, players can fight Krauser with the knife, and not just only this, players will be able to dodge the villagers and also step back when the villagers try to attack.

The Parry System is now the main mechanic of the remake and will also allow players to do QTE events anytime.

So now, with the Remake, players will have much more options and freedom in dealing with the action and enemies using the new stealth or the fight!

Players will have the options to choose however they want to and will be able to escape as well.

In addition, players will not need to be worried about the enemies well, at least initially, so the players will be able to use Stealth. Also, the bolt throwers will not make much noise, so players can get to kill more enemies.

Well, as mentioned above that the players will only be able to use knives for some time, and also, armor will be less, so as per the directors, the Remake is a survival horror experience at the core, and adding these mechanics will make the experience more horrifying.
