Well, you ask, what is it? The Mercenaries, a challenge mode, is being added to the game as DLC, and the Mercenaries DLC is coming on April 7, as announced by Capcom.

For those who don’t know, When the game’s third trailer came out some time ago, it gave us a glimpse of an upcoming mode, i.e., Mercenaries, and a couple of days ago, the mode got its release date via the title launch trailer.

This is not all; the challenge mode, i.e., Mercenaries, will have different costumes for the playable characters, as there are a lot of normal costumes for Alda, Leon & more. Also, there are some specialized costumes that add style to the gameplay.

Before the mode & costumes goes live, Gosetsu, from the RE Wiki Discord server, was able to get his hands on the upcoming costumes. Well, Gosetsu is a creditable Resident Evil Data miner and brought them to the public domain.

The Resident Evil Central on Twitter shared the first look at the upcoming costumes in the Mercenaries DLC.

It seems like Albert Wesker & Ada Wong are getting one more costume for the players to don in the DLC. Although Leon’s set of getable skins is not known yet, we expect it to be out as the official release comes closer.

Furthermore, Gosetuse revealed the biggest thing that is coming in this Mercenaries is that Luis Sera is making their debut in the Mercenaries as the playable character.

Looking back, Luis Sera was not a part of the Mercenaries mode in the Original classic, although his inclusion in the remake has been made prominent.

Hence, he’s also in the mini-game mode and has more screen time in the classic remake than in the previous ones.

Another character that is making its comeback from the original game is Hunk; He’s a serial killer and also a field agent of the Umbrella corporation.

Although the character isn’t that relevant to the story of the game but has played some good roles in the past though there’s nothing for him in the classic game.

One more thing, it looks like Capcom is planning for Separate Ways for DLC for the Remake. This comes from Gosetsu from the RE Wiki Discord server (again).

The RE data miner found a reference to the Ada Wong story mode. Separate Ways DLC is known as Another Order in Japan, to put this into perspective! The folder was hidden behind the game’s files.

Although nothing is confirmed yet, nor will this ever see the light, till Capcom confirms it, so like every leak, take this info with a pinch of salt. Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on  PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
